Emails

Private Fundraising Period (Introduction):

Use the following template in the first email you send out to your social network. Feel free to modify it any way you want.

Friends, family, colleagues, acquaintances, etc.,

I am happy to announce that (insert company here) is crowdfunding a 0% interest loan on Kiva. Kiva is the first and largest micro-lending service in the world that has distributed $709 million over 10 years, in 85 different countries, among 1.5 million small businesses.

I am currently in a private fundraising period, during which I have 15 days to get XX lenders in order to make it on the public platform where anyone on Kiva can lend to me. The funds from this loan will go towards (insert short description of loan use).

I would like to ask you to lend as little as $25 (which you will get back!) so that I can progress to the public fundraising period. If you would like to support me, please follow this link to my profile page (insert profile link here). This is the only way your loan will be tracked as coming through me. Thanks for your support, I am honestly so grateful!

I sincerely appreciate your support!

Thank you!

Private Fundraising Period (Follow Up):

Consider using the following template in the second email you send to your social network. Many of your friends probably would love to lend to you, but they may have forgotten if there was no sense of urgency. Focus on customizing your message for each person.

Dear (insert name here),

I hope you're doing well! I recently sent you a message about my 0% intererst loan on Kiva for my business. I'd really appreciate it if you could lend as little as $25! (If it is appropriate, consider asking for more).

This loan is important because it will allow me to _____. In case you lost the link, here it is again: (insert your loan profile link here).

Again, this is a loan, not a donation, so your money will be returned as I pay back my loan. Your support has always meant a lot to (insert the name of your business here) as well as myself. Hope that you can help with a loan of $25 and share this with your network!

Please make a contribution before (insert date here). Every dollar helps, and I would sincerely appreciate your support! Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you!

Dear (insert name here),

I made it through the private fundraising period and now my loan is posted on the Kiva public page! I have 30 days to fund the remainder of my loan to receive my loan - funding on Kiva is an all or nothing deal.

If you're interested in seeing how many organic fruits and vegetables (A LOT) are actually in our juices, take a look at this quick video we put together: (link to video). Special thanks to all who've loaned so far. This loan will help us get the necessary staff that we hire up to speed and move us to the next level. THANK YOU! Cheers to you for helping us make the world healthier one person at a time and for supporting an environmentally-friendly woman-owned business.
