Application Status Definitions

Here is a breakdown of Kiva’s Application Status Updates and what they mean for you!

Pending Submission: Pending means your application is in progress and has not yet been submitted by the borrower.

CAM Review: If you are in a region where Kiva has a Capital Access Manager, this is the part of the process where that person reviews your application. If you are not working with a Capital Access manager, your application will move to Kiva Review as soon as it is being reviewed by a Kiva staff member.

Kiva Review: This means that your application is undergoing further review by Kiva staff.

Ready to Post: This means review of your application is mostly complete but Kiva is conducting a few final pieces of diligence before confirming your qualification amount. If everything is in order, your application will be moved to Private Crowdfunding, otherwise it will be turned down.

Private Crowdfunding: This means you are in the process of crowdfunding from your personal network before going onto the public side of Kiva.org.

Public Crowdfunding: This means you’re live on Kiva.org and your loan is being crowdfunded!

Pending Approval: This means you’ve successfully raised the amount of your loan and your loan is pending disbursal. Kiva conducts a few additional checks at this point in the process, including verifying your PayPal account. On average this process takes 5-7 business days.

Approved: This means the money has been disbursed to your PayPal account.
